In 2017, I took the stage for my final competitive solo at the Hall of Fame regional competition, marking the end of an incredible chapter in my life. This competition had been a cornerstone for my dance studio for years, making it the perfect place for such a bittersweet milestone. My solo, titled “In a Time Lapse,” was choreographed by a special artist from my small town who had gone on to perform across the country, adding even more significance to the piece. The choreography was one of the most challenging I had ever tackled, demanding every ounce of technique, emotion, and focus I could give. When I finally earned a platinum score—the highest possible—I felt an overwhelming sense of pride and accomplishment, knowing all my hard work had paid off. This solo wasn’t just a performance; it was a culmination of years of dedication and passion for dance. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities my dance studio provided, which not only shaped me as a performer but also gave me lifelong memories and friendships. Reflecting on this moment reminds me of the confidence and creativity dance brought into my life, leaving an imprint that will stay with me forever.
